Garage Band song removed from iCloud disappeared from device

Hi.

I wanted to upload songs from my iPad to the iCloud for further editing in Garage Band. I managed to upload a few songs, then I found it too slow, and selected more songs to upload at once. I rolled down and tapped the Cloud menu and some of the songs disappeared from my device without a notice.
I checked once again, and realized that when a song is selected that was already uplodaed, the command "upload song to iCloud" changes to "remove songs from iCloud". So I learned that I accidentally removed some songs from iCloud, OK, but why did they disappear from the device?
The support site states that "When you remove a song, the song stays on your current device, but is deleted from iCloud and from your other devices." but this is not the case, these songs disappeared from the device, and I cannot see any recovery or recycle facility on iCloud either... Any chance to get these songs back? Thanks for any comments.

this worked for me too, though I had to (nervously) close out the GB app on my iPad for it to show up in the list of projects again. When I relaunched it, suddenly the file was there, renamed "My File (2)". I quickly saved it to icloud. Whew! Thanks for the info

For my money, the design that transforms the same "button" from Upload to Remove is HORRIBLE. Just a really bad idea. And it is misleading for Apple to say the file is still on the device, when it does not appear to be there until going through this weird rigamarole.
